Description
“Cliffe Hangin” by Fred Sturm was scored so that it can be performed by three experienced trombonists (parts 1–3) and four beginning-level trombonists (parts 4–7). Conductors are welcome to assign multiple performers to each trombone part (the premiere performance featured Wycliffe Gordon and two advanced school musicians on parts 1–3, and almost 50 trombonists aged 9–16 were assigned to parts 4–7). The rhythm section parts can be played by beginning-level performers (playing suggested parts) or embellished by experienced players. And remember: All trombonists must have a plunger!
