Commissioned by the Countess Pastré (1891-1974), this piece was written in 1952 and premiered in January fo 1953 by a stellar cast, including Jean-Pierre Rampal, Robert Veyron-Lacroix, and the “orchestre de la radio-difussion française” conducted by Richard Blareau. The original manuscripts were mysteriously lost for more than 40 years, resurfacing in 2002 to make this edition possible.
