Description
This version of the „Sérénade“ which the composer himself regards as funny and easy-going is quite close to the original. The phrases can be easily recognized, they are being interrupted by burlesque interjections and commented. The final part „Con moto“ transposes the theme into another metre and serves as a finishing stretto. A change of instruments especially created for the final chord emphasizes the satiric touch which penetrates the whole movement.
