Description

Franz Krommer (1759-1831) was one of the most popular composers of his time, but almost completely fell into oblivion afterwards – maybe as a result of the way historic reports of the 19th century mainly concentrated on the cultivation of genii. His rediscovery presents us with works in which the classical form is combined with a traditional catchy expression and which show an independent personality by their wittiness, colour and harmonic pecularities. The new edition presented here is based on the first print of the solo part and the orchestra parts published in 1803 by Johann André, Offenbach.
