Description

Christoph Wünsch was born in 1955. He studied piano, school music, composition, music theory and musicology. He worked on Max Reger and, in addition to his classical studies, he followed a full-length jazz course. He is professor for music theory at the University for Music Wuerzburg and directs the Studios for New Music there. Christoph Wünsch, who is also a pianist specialized in new music and jazz, composes and arranges for a variety of settings including live electronics, theater, radio plays, music for silent movies and music for children. In all the movements of the “Four images for Flute and Percussion”, both instruments share an equal partnership. The four movements are called “Dialogue – Meditation – Tambour (theme with variations) – Paranoia (sic!). A performance of the separate images is possible; if played as a whole, though, the sequence should not be changed. Percussion instruments needed: 5 temple blocks, 4 tom toms, snare drum, Hi-hat, crash cymbal, ride cymbal and tambourine.
