Description
“Giuoco” (play, interaction, entertainment, enjoyment) is a tonal and rhythmic rainbow for transverse flute quartet. It was originally composed for four of the same type of transverse flute, but the first part can also be played on a piccolo and the fourth part on a bass flute. The four flutists communicate and compete with one another in a moving ensemble performance. Through intense rhythmic playing, tremolos, runs and frequent changes in motifs throughout the different parts, a composition is formed in which each part takes on both an accompanying role, as well as a soloistic one.
