Nick Strimple has composed a set of three easy anthems, and lacking in difficulty is absolutely true. But elegant and distinguished also describes these settings of familiar texts. The words by 19th century English poet John Bowring is the least known text, but it is timeless and speaks of God’s enduring love. The organ accompaniment contains scrumptious suspensions and resolutions for an anthem that works equally well as a choral piece, a solo, or for unison choir.
