The Londonderry Air is one of Ireland’s most attractive traditional tunes. It’s lovely haunting melody evokes the peace and tranquility of the beautiful Irish countryside. This arrangement by Cecilia Watson will be a welcome addition to the repertoire oa all string quartets. The addition of a third violin part makes the arrangement particularly suitable for less experienced string groups who may not have a viola player. This piece will prove ideal as a concert item or for use at funerals, weddings or garden parties. Intermediate level. Does not include a play-along CD.
