Description
As a concert organist, Jean-Baptiste Robin has reached the pinnacle of his craft, having been named Organist of the Royal Chapel at the Palace of Versailles in 2010. As a composer, Robin has created a body of work that encompasses ensembles large and small, all in his contemporary and personal voice. For the skilled Quatuor Ellipsos, he has created a piece that builds into a rythmic, driving, high-energy concert entry. In Robin’s description of the work, “A darting, two-voiced theme emerges progressively. Distant and mysterious, it leads to a rhythmic, dancing motif that will continue to be developed throughout.”
