Description
Revelation in the Courthouse Park is a setting of the tragedy The Bacchae of Euripides that Harry Partch completed in 1960. The plot is in America, but also in Old Thebes: Partch compares American, extremely religious followers with the insane women from the Greek tragedy. The play takes up many of the characteristics of its earlier main works, and therefore requires an orchestra consisting of almost all of its self-made instruments.
Facsimile study score, spiral bound with foreword by Charles Corey, and extensive notes.
Voicing: after The Bacchae by Euripides
