Description
A student of Gaetano Pugnani, Giovanni Battista Viotti (1755-1824) made his sensational debut in Paris in 1782. He performed his own works as it was common in the era . Both his violin playing and his compositions were equally praised by audiences and critics alike. Compositions for two violins are a very important part of Viotti’s creations. Viotti included chamber music in his studio, with students performing alongside with the Master. These Six Duets, Op. 19 are published in three volumes. Not only are they pedagogically important, but also terrific concert repertory material. Meticulous care and attention to every detail has been taken in the notation, bowing and fingering of these works by editor and Jascha Heifetz protg, Endre Granat.
