Description
Scholars have conjectured that Franz Joseph Haydn’s (1732-1809) SYMPHONY NO. 19 IN D MAJOR (Hob. 1:19) was composed between 1757 and 1761, during his tenure as Kapellmeister for Count Karl Joseph of Morzin. This case has been made due to the light scoring and stylistic elements indicative of the Italian overture. As is typical of other symphonies from this period, it is constructed in three movements.
