Description
This rhapsody for concert band describes programmatically the period of history when knights fought bravely in suits of shining armor; the tournament was a time of fierce jousting to gain the favor of royalty, as well as a duel of mortal combat. The music portrays this battle by showcasing the various instrumental sections, each fighting for attention with call-and-response patterns. Each section of the band has its own moment of glory in this heroic concert work.
